Katie Ruch, LLPC
Hi, I’m Katie, a Limited Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Michigan.
I grew up in the Holland/Zeeland area and completed my undergrad at Hope College, where I studied Sociology, Communication, and Criminal Justice. During my senior year, I moved to Philadelphia for a semester-long internship with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where I worked full-time in both the Homicide and Victims Units.
After returning to Michigan, I spent seven years working with Bethany Christian Services in the Safe Families for Children program. During that time, I discovered my passion for supporting individuals and families through difficult seasons of life, which led me to pursue my Master’s degree in Counseling Education: Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy at Western Michigan University.
As part of my graduate training, I completed over 700 hours of supervised counseling experience at the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services, Reach for Recovery, and Arbor Circle.
My education and experience have equipped me to work with adolescents and young adults. I have a special interest in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, and addiction; adolescents experiencing parental divorce; and mothers in all stages from pregnancy through postpartum.
On a personal note, I married my husband in 2020, and we now have two young boys. Life with a young family keeps me busy, but when I have time for myself, I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors, and exploring local thrift stores.
I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to take the first step into therapy. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel heard and understood. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences and work toward the goals that matter most to you.
